The Rise of Longevity Nutrition
Over the past few years, I’ve noticed a huge shift in what my clients are asking about. It’s no longer just about fixing fatigue, balancing hormones or improving digestion, it’s about longevity. People want to know how to live not just longer, but better, with energy, clarity, and vitality well into later years.
As a nutritional therapist, I’ve spent more than a decade helping clients restore balance through nutrition and lifestyle. So, when I began seeing more questions about NAD, NMN, NR, and other “longevity” nutrients, I wanted to understand the real science behind them, separating genuine evidence from the noise of social media promises and influencer trends.
Meeting Simon and the Birth of Uthful
It was around this time that I met Simon, through mutual friends and a business network. He shared his idea to create a daily performance and longevity supplement based on NMN, and I’ll admit, my first reaction was cautious curiosity.
Longevity, I felt, was about so much more than a single nutrient. Thankfully, Simon agreed completely, and that shared belief became the starting point for Uthful.
From day one, the Uthful vision was clear, to develop a formula that supports both how you feel now and how your body ages in the future. Uthful isn’t just another trending supplement, it’s a daily ritual built on research, clinical insight, and a philosophy of living youthfully from the inside out.
Supporting the Here and Now with Every Day Wellness
Every day in my practice, I see clients who struggle with low energy, brain fog, and lack of motivation. The symptoms might sound similar, but the causes are rarely the same: stress, poor sleep, nutrient deficiencies, hormones or metabolic imbalances all play a role.
That’s why the Uthful formula was designed to work holistically, addressing multiple pathways that affect energy, focus, and resilience. Each nutrient was carefully selected for its synergy, purity, and bioavailability, because real results come from getting the right nutrients, in the right forms, at the right levels.
Because Uthful is a powder, it allows for nutrient levels that simply wouldn’t fit into a capsule or tablet, making it a simple, effective way to nourish your body every day.
Gone are the days of sending my clients home with multiple bottles and instructions, with Uthful, all of the essentials are included in one convenient daily scoop, which represents incredible value versus buying everything separately.
Supporting Lifespan and Healthspan
Longevity isn’t just about living longer, it’s about living better. Uthful brings together advanced longevity nutrients and potent plant compounds that have been shown to support cellular protection and balance inflammation, key factors at the root of many chronic conditions.
We now know that cellular damage and low-grade inflammation can begin many years before symptoms appear. By supporting your body proactively, through targeted nutrition, lifestyle choices, and evidence-based supplementation, you’re investing in a longer, healthier, more vibrant life.
The Uthful Philosophy Health is a Habit.
Working with Simon to develop Uthful has been an inspiring journey, blending science, integrity, and a shared passion for wellbeing. Yes, Uthful is a supplement, but it’s also part of a lifestyle philosophy designed to help you feel energised, youthful, and ready to live life to the fullest. By supporting an active lifestyle, it encourages further benefits including reduced stress, improved mental wellbeing, and greater vitality.
So What is in Uthful and Why?
Here’s the important bit, the what and why of the Uthful formula. Discover all you need to know about your daily performance, vitality and longevity blend.
NMN
NMN is one of the most researched and promising nutrients for naturally supporting NAD⁺ production, a critical coenzyme for cellular energy, DNA repair, and healthy ageing. While NAD⁺ itself is unstable and not effective as an oral supplement, NMN acts as its direct precursor, helping the body to produce NAD⁺ efficiently and safely.
Studies show that NMN supplementation can raise blood NAD⁺ levels and support energy metabolism, vascular and muscular health, and overall vitality, particularly as we age and our natural NAD⁺ production declines.
The 500mg dosage we have selected, reflects evidence from clinical trials where benefits have been seen at this level, without exceeding the safe and balanced range. By including NMN as part of a synergistic blend, rather than in isolation, Uthful aims to optimise energy at a cellular level, supporting both immediate vitality and long term healthspan
B Vitamin Complex: B1, B6, B5, Folate and B12
The B vitamins in Uthful, B1, B5, B6, folate (B9), and B12, work together synergistically to support energy production, cognitive function, mood, and healthy ageing. B1 and B5 are critical for mitochondrial energy metabolism, helping cells convert nutrients into ATP, the body’s energy currency, so you feel more energised throughout the day.
B6, folate, and B12 play essential roles in homocysteine metabolism and methylation cycles, supporting brain health, neurotransmitter synthesis, and cardiovascular wellness, all factors linked to longevity.
These B vitamins also complement NMN, by ensuring the cellular environment is optimised for NAD⁺ production, sirtuin activation, and DNA repair. Together this combination helps to support daily vitality and nurture long term cellular resistance.
Vitamin C
One of the oldest and still one of my go-to daily vitamins. Vitamin C is well known for its role in contributing to the normal structure and function of the immune system, but this essential vitamin does so much more than that. Vitamin C is central to the Uthful formula as it acts in so many biochemical pathways in the body including:
- Antioxidant protection - as an antioxidant, Vitamin C helps to neutralise free radicals, those chemicals that can damage cells and cause premature aging. In this role it also reduces oxidative stress which is a driver of chronic inflammation and a trigger for many common chronic disease states.
- Collagen synthesis - Vitamin C is essential to the creation of collagen for long term health of skin, bones and joints.
- Immune support - Vitamin C enhances white blood cell function, helps to defend against infections and has a role in the histamine pathway (the chemical involved in allergic reactions and inflammatory responses).
With its role in so many functions in the body, Vitamin C is perfectly aligned to the Uthful philosophy of supporting performance, vitality, and longevity.
Vitamin D3
Vitamin D is an essential nutrient, well known for its role in supporting healthy bones, muscles, and teeth, but research now shows it has far reaching effects on immune function, mood, cardiovascular health, and overall longevity.
Modern lifestyles mean that many of us don’t get enough sunlight (particularly in our British winters), the body’s primary source of vitamin D, due to working indoors, sunscreen use, or covering with clothing. Furthermore, dietary sources alone are often insufficient.
While the NHS recommends a minimum of 400 IU per day to prevent deficiency, evidence from clinical studies and expert guidance suggests that benefits for immune support, mood, and bone health are more likely at daily doses of 1,000–4,000 IU.
For Uthful, we’ve included 2,000 IU of vitamin D3, as an effective and evidence-backed dose. Numerous randomised controlled trials have concluded that Vitamin D3 at this level is sufficient to raise serum Vitamin D above deficiency and to maintain at adequate levels.
Of course, individual needs will vary depending on factors such as previous supplement use, sun exposure, and skin tone. If you have been taking high dose vitamin D supplements prior to starting Uthful, it’s advisable to have your vitamin D levels tested to understand your current status and determine your ongoing requirements.
Vitamin K2
We’ve included 200 µg of vitamin K2 (MK,7) in Uthful to support both bone strength and cardiovascular health. Vitamin K2 works synergistically with vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 helps the body absorb calcium and K2 directs that calcium to where it’s needed, into bones and teeth, and away from arteries and soft tissues, reducing the risk of arterial calcification.
Research shows that K2, particularly the MK,7 form, has been linked to improvements in bone mineral density and reduced fracture risk, as well as enhanced vascular health. Many people are at risk of K2 deficiency due to diet, gut microbiome issues, or lifestyle factors, so including a substantial 200 µg dose ensures consistent support. Together with vitamin D3, this combination helps Uthful provide long term structural health.
Magnesium: As Magnesium Glycinate and Magnesium Malate
We’ve included magnesium in Uthful in the forms of magnesium glycinate and magnesium malate (200mg of each, providing a total of 60mg elemental magnesium) to support muscle function, energy production, and nervous system health.
Magnesium is a vital mineral involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body, including those that convert food into energy, regulate muscle contraction, and support nerve signalling.
Magnesium glycinate is a highly absorbable form that is gentle on the digestive system and helps promote relaxation and restorative sleep. While magnesium malate supports cellular energy production via the Krebs cycle, helping to reduce tiredness and fatigue. By combining these two forms, Uthful delivers a well-rounded magnesium profile targeting both energy and calm, which are essential for everyday vitality and long term wellness.
Zinc and Copper
We’ve included zinc (10mg as zinc picolinate, providing 2mg elemental zinc) with a complementary dose of copper to support immune function, antioxidant defence, and overall cellular health.
Zinc is an essential trace mineral involved in hundreds of enzymatic processes, including DNA synthesis, protein production, and the maintenance of healthy skin, hair, and nails. It also plays a key role in supporting immune resilience and protecting cells from oxidative stress.
To maintain mineral balance and prevent interference with copper absorption, we’ve added copper in a ratio that supports optimal mineral status. Together, zinc and copper help ensure the body’s enzymatic, hormone and antioxidant systems function effectively, contributing to energy, vitality, and long-term wellness.
Spermidine
Spermidine is a polyamine, a small organic compound that is involved in cell growth, DNA stabilisation and autophagy (the body’s natural process of cleaning out damaged cells and cellular components, then recycling them into energy and new building blocks). Spermidine therefore has a key role in cellular repair, mitochondrial health, and immune balance.
Our bodies can naturally make spermidine and it can be found in foods including aged cheese, soy, mushrooms, whole grains. The amount we create declines with age and, as a result, there has been interest in boosting spermidine levels via supplementation.
To date, the majority of studies on spermidine supplementation have been done in animal, rather than human studies. These animal studies have demonstrated an extension in lifespan and healthspan, along with improvements in cardiovascular markers and cognition. Other research has shown that a higher intake of spermidine through food sources has been associated with lower cardiovascular mortality.
Given the role of spermidine and the fact that levels decline with age we have included this compound at a level of 5mg, which is approximately level you would get from a standard size serving of soybeans, mushrooms, chicken liver or wheatgerm. There is still a lot we need to discover about spermidine and so we see it as one piece of the longevity tool kit, alongside other key nutrients.
Resveratrol and Pterostilbene
Resveratrol, a well-researched phytonutrient found in grape skins and red wine, has been shown in numerous human clinical studies to support cardiovascular health, insulin sensitivity, and reduction of oxidative stress, even at relatively low doses. While its bioavailability is limited, the evidence for its health benefits is still strong, and resveratrol continues to be a central focus in longevity research.
Pterostilbene, meanwhile, is a close chemical relative of resveratrol found primarily in blueberries, which is more bioavailable and longer lasting in the bloodstream, allowing it to potentially exert greater systemic effects.
By combining these two compounds, Uthful delivers both the well-established clinical benefits of resveratrol and the enhanced absorption and potency of pterostilbene, providing synergistic support for cellular protection, inflammation balance, and healthy aging.
MSM and Hyaluronic Acid
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a naturally occurring form of organic sulphur that helps maintain normal function and structure within the body. It is essential for the strength and resilience of connective tissue, including cartilage, tendons, skin, and hair.
MSM is present in foods such as milk, meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, and grains, but it is sensitive to heat and processing, meaning that much of it is lost from modern diets. Research also suggests that MSM levels in the body naturally decline with age, making optimal intake increasingly important for maintaining mobility and structural health over time.
Emerging human trials show that daily doses of 2 to 3g per day of MSM can improve knee pain and function in osteoarthritis, reduce post exercise muscle/joint discomfort and enhance structural resilience. While more research is needed, MSM’s key role and well tolerated safety profile makes it an obvious choice in any longevity toolkit.
We’ve included MSM in Uthful’s daily blend at a dosage of 300mg as part of our synergistic longevity formula. At this level, the intention is to offer protection against age-related decline in MSM levels and provide a natural component that is essential to connective tissue strength, mobility and joint recovery.
To complement MSM and further support joints and connective tissue, we have also included hyaluronic acid in Uthful. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring compound found throughout the body, particularly in the skin, eyes, and joints, where it helps to retain moisture, cushion tissues, and support structural integrity.
Hyaluronic acid is a glycosaminoglycan (a long, unbranched polysaccharide composed of glucuronic acid and N-acetyl-glucosamine) renowned for its remarkable water-binding ability, earning it the title of “nature’s moisturiser.”
Around 50% of the body’s hyaluronic acid resides in the skin, where it supports hydration, elasticity, and nutrient delivery to dermal cells. HA nourishes and hydrates the collagen matrix, helping to keep skin smooth, soft, and resilient while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
In addition to its role in promoting youthful-looking skin, HA also helps to lubricate joints, cushion cartilage, and support normal tissue repair and wound healing.
Choline
Choline is an essential nutrient that acts as a precursor for acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in memory, focus, and mood regulation. It also supports the formation of phospholipids, which are critical for maintaining the structural integrity of cell membranes, particularly in the brain and liver. While small amounts are present in eggs, meat, and fish, modern diets often provide insufficient choline, and so supplementation ensures a reliable daily intake to help maintain optimal cognitive function and support healthy liver metabolism over time.
We’ve included choline (50 mg as L,choline bitartrate) in Uthful to support brain health, cognitive function, and mental health, all key aspects of everyday vitality and long-term wellness
Electrolytes: Magnesium, potassium, chloride, sodium
Electrolytes are electrically charged minerals that help maintain the balance of fluids inside and outside cells, allowing the body to generate the electrical signals essential for nerve communication, muscle contraction, and heart rhythm.
Sodium helps regulate total body water and encourages thirst, ensuring proper rehydration, while potassium works with sodium to maintain a healthy cellular electrical charge, supporting muscles and nerve function.
Magnesium not only relaxes overactive nerves and muscles but also contributes to energy production via ATP, helping reduce fatigue and muscle soreness. While chloride works alongside sodium and potassium to maintain acid base balance and fluid distribution, crucial for overall cellular health.
Together, these electrolytes ensure that hydration, energy, and muscle function are optimally supported, making them a vital component of daily wellness and long term vitality in Uthful.
Glycine
Glycine is a non-essential amino acid with multiple roles in supporting overall wellness, particularly for sleep, detoxification, and longevity. All areas that align with Uthful’s mission of promoting long-term vitality and health.
Glycine acts as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, promoting relaxation and deeper, more restorative sleep, which is crucial for cellular repair, cognitive function, and metabolic health. It is also a key component of collagen, contributing to skin, joint, and connective tissue integrity, and supports the body’s natural detoxification pathways through its role in glutathione synthesis, one of the body’s most powerful antioxidants.
We have included 300mg of glycine as part of the Uthful daily wellness blend to work synergistically with other nutrients such as magnesium, zinc and B vitamins to support sleep, tissue health, and cellular resilience.
L Theanine
Theanine is one of my favourite and most recommended herbal extracts. Theanine is well researched for its calming effect and focus-enhancing qualities, and it can offer much needed support for modern, busy lives.
Theanine is a naturally occurring amino acid, found almost exclusively in tea leaves, particularly green tea. Theanine is unique in its ability to cross the blood/brain barrier and increase alpha wave brain activity associated with a calm but alert mental state.
Benefits supported by research include a reduction in stress and anxiety, improved focus and attention, and better sleep quality.
Although tea provides small amounts, achieving a 100mg daily intake would require around 5 to 10 cups. Supplementation, therefore, offers a more practical and consistent way to obtain the researched benefits every day.
